The terms that govern use of Herd The Cats.

Welcome to Herd The Cats.

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Herd The Cats and any related websites, applications, services, and features provided through herdthecats.club.

Herd The Cats is currently operated by Steven Robbins ("Herd The Cats", "we", "us", or "our").

By accessing or using Herd The Cats, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the service.


About Herd The Cats

Herd The Cats is a scheduling and coordination service that helps people:

  • Create event polls
  • Collect availability responses
  • Share event links
  • Find suitable dates and times for groups
  • Customise Catatars
  • Connect supported calendar services

Some features may be available without creating an account.

Other features may require signing in through a supported identity provider.


Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Herd The Cats.

If local law requires a higher minimum age, that higher age applies.

By using Herd The Cats, you confirm that you meet the applicable age requirements.


Accounts

Some features require an account.

You may be able to create an account using supported providers such as:

  • Google
  • Microsoft
  • Apple
  • Email and password

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your account
  • Protecting your login credentials
  • Activities performed using your account

You must notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.


Event Links

Herd The Cats events are designed to be private and shared directly by users.

Events are:

  • Not publicly listed
  • Not publicly indexed
  • Not searchable through Herd The Cats

Access to an event generally requires:

  • Possession of a valid event link
  • Appropriate account permissions
  • Event administrator access

You are responsible for deciding who receives your event links.

Anyone with access to a valid event link may be able to view information made available through that link.


Your Content

You are responsible for content you create or submit through Herd The Cats.

This includes:

  • Event titles
  • Event descriptions
  • Locations
  • Availability responses
  • Display names
  • Catatar customisations
  • Feedback or support requests

You must ensure that your content:

  • Is lawful
  • Does not infringe the rights of others
  • Is not abusive, harmful, misleading, or fraudulent

You retain ownership of content that you create.

You grant Herd The Cats a limited licence to store, process, display, and transmit that content as necessary to operate the service.


Catatars

Catatars are created using predefined artwork, assets, designs, and rendering systems owned by Herd The Cats or its licensors.

You may customise Catatars using the tools provided by the service.

You retain ownership of your customisation choices.

However, Herd The Cats retains ownership of:

  • Artwork
  • Asset libraries
  • Character components
  • Rendering systems
  • Design elements
  • Related intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, Catatars are provided for personal use in connection with Herd The Cats.


Calendar Integrations

Calendar integrations are optional.

Connecting a calendar is separate from creating an account.

Where supported, Herd The Cats may access availability information from external calendar providers to help identify suitable meeting times.

Herd The Cats is designed not to intentionally store titles, descriptions, attendee lists, locations, notes, or other contents from external calendar providers.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Herd The Cats for unlawful purposes
  • Send spam or unsolicited invitations
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse others
  • Upload malicious software or harmful content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems or accounts
  • Interfere with service operation
  • Circumvent security controls
  • Scrape or harvest data in ways that negatively affect the service
  • Impersonate another person or organisation

Voluntary Support and Donations

Herd The Cats may offer voluntary support options through services such as:

  • Ko-fi
  • GitHub Sponsors
  • Similar platforms

Support is voluntary.

Providing support does not create a contractual entitlement to:

  • New features
  • Feature requests
  • Priority support
  • Refunds
  • Continued availability of the service

We are grateful for any support received.


Intellectual Property

Herd The Cats and its content, including:

  • Branding
  • Logos
  • Software
  • User interface designs
  • Catatar assets
  • Artwork
  • Documentation

are owned by Herd The Cats or its licensors.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of any intellectual property rights.


Service Availability

Herd The Cats is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We do not guarantee:

  • Continuous availability
  • Error-free operation
  • Permanent storage of data
  • Availability of specific features
  • Compatibility with all devices or services

The service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time.

You should not rely on Herd The Cats as the sole copy of important information.


Beta and Experimental Features

From time to time, Herd The Cats may include experimental or beta features.

These features may:

  • Change without notice
  • Be removed
  • Behave unexpectedly
  • Contain bugs

You use beta features at your own risk.


Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Herd The Cats shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of goodwill

arising from use of the service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

You may stop using Herd The Cats at any time.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access where we reasonably believe:

  • These Terms have been violated
  • The service is being abused
  • Security risks exist
  • Fraudulent activity has occurred
  • Continued access may create legal or operational risk

Where appropriate, we may remove content or disable access without prior notice.


Changes to the Service

  • Remove features
  • Change functionality
  • Modify limits
  • Introduce new services

at any time.

We are not obligated to maintain any particular feature indefinitely.


Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The latest version will always be made available through Herd The Cats.

Continued use of the service after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.


Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Nothing in these Terms affects mandatory consumer rights that may apply under the laws of your country of residence.
